ESSENCE OF
VIOLENCE

Game Design, All Levels

I was the designer for Essence of Violence, a game made in 2 weeks for the 2025 February Pirate Jam

Essence of Violence is a top-down frantic shooter where you play as a spirit capable of possessing people and forcing them to fight others. Rage through a surprisingly militant office building with reckless abandon, as not even death can stray you from your path of absolute destruction.

BOXED IN

Puzzle and Level Design

I am a level and puzzle designer for Boxed In, a game being made by Cat Scratch

I grayboxed three levels for the game, including the Bathroom, Guest Bedroom, and an unused level, and did the final design and beautification for the Guest Bedroom level.

This game was an experience in making puzzles and playing with a sense of verticality. The main design approach involved using the player's incredible maneuverability juxtaposed with the difficulty of moving around the main mechanic: the Power Ball. I focused on this juxtaposition greatly when working on the Guest Bedroom level, which was created from nothing. For more details, hit the Design Details button.

WORLD WAR ZOO

Design

I was the designer for World War Zoo, a game made in 48 hours for the GMTK 2023 Game Jam.

World War Zoo is a tower "offense" game where you play as the enemy waves in a tower defense game, trying to summon enemies to reach the end of the level over the course of several rounds, where both you and the towers improve as time goes on.

This game was thought up as its mechanics first, to work with the Game Jam's prompt "Roles Reversed" and its aesthetic came after, another sort of role reversal as you play animals against an industrial state.

     CUBALON      THE GAME

Design, Art, Programming, Everything

I made Cubalon the Game as part of a school project at Moorpark College's Game Tech 1 class of Fall 2022

Cubalon the Game is a puzzle-platformer where you play a rectangular prism named Cubalon, strong enough to push rocks but unable to push immovable cubes without the assistance of a powerful jetpack. You must help them on their journey to meet their rival Rectangulon the Cube

This game was the first video game I've ever published and first game I've worked on single-handedly before publishing. Even as newer, shinier titles shadow it, it has a special spot in my heart.

GALAXY DIVIDED

Level Design

I was the level designer for Galaxy Divided, a game made for Moorpark College's Game Studio class in Spring 2023.

I plotted, grayboxed, and made the map for the planet that the game takes place on. The map was designed to account for the player's movement capabilities and allow for emergent platforming and exploration.

This game was my first foray into designing open spaces that can be played through from any starting point. For more details, check the Design Details

THE DAVID
OF DAVID

Mechanics Design

I was the head designer and general leader of this project during Professor Thomas Smith's Game Theory and Mechanics class of 2020. In this game, you run through a series of three boss fights working together to defeat each one. However, only one person can win by having done the most damage and getting the most finishing blows in these boss fights. As such, the goal is to assist your friends as little as possible, fighting for the prize and only providing help when it benefits you best.

This game was released as a mod for the game Tabletop Simulator, which is required to play this game.

The rulebook is present within the mod itself but has also been provided standalone. Those wishing to play it outside of VTT are free to inquire me about its assets.

PICTIONANARCHY

Designer

The original idea for the game was made by myself with rules expanded upon by a team for a school project involving taking a single rule change of a simple game and making something new out of it. The original rule list was lost, however, and so this version has been wholly made by me.

The goal with this game was to make a version of Pictionary that allowed each player to draw more than guess, as I believe that to be the more interesting and involved aspect of the game over guessing.

In this game, all but one player is given a prompt to draw on a whiteboard. That player must successfully guess the subject of as many drawings as they can within a period of time. Furthermore, those drawing are free to place constructive edits on anyone else's work, turning their prompts into something new entirely to sabotage their efforts.

This game can be played with a real whiteboard and markers but is easier with any number of sites that allow people to draw together.
